Who can sign up for the Ataxia Challenge?

The Ataxia Challenge is open to any cyclist 14 and older in good shape who wants to live an unforgettable experience.

Can I sign up the day of the event?

Yes, you can sign up the morning of August 19 before 8:30 a.m., but a $15 charge will be added to your registration fee.

How should I choose my route?

Three routes are offered: 45 km, 75 km or 125 km

  • The family course with cruise speeds of 20 to 25 km/h, which means a mild level of difficulty, recommended for those who bike a little.
  • The average course with cruising speeds of 26 to 30 km/h, which means an average level of difficulty, recommended for those who bike regularly.
  • The long course whose cruising speeds will be more than 30 km/h, which means an advanced level of difficulty, recommended for those who bike more intensely.

Where are the departure and arrival locations?

All courses start and end at the same place, Parc des Ateliers, 1840 Bourgogne Avenue, Chambly, QC, J3L 1Y8.

Is there parking very nearby?

Yes, at and around Parc des Atelier.

What is the schedule for the day?

7:00–8:30 a.m.: pick up participant packages and late registration

9:00 a.m.: departure for long circuit participants

9:15 a.m.: departure for medium circuit participants

9:30 a.m.: departure for family circuit participants

12:00–3:00 p.m.: meal, entertainment, random draw for prizes

Is the FQSC license mandatory?

Yes, you must hold a Fédération québécoise de sports cyclistes licence, which includes cyclist insurance. You must register online at https://fqsc.net/adhesion-et-affiliation (French only)
