Every year, Ataxia Canada and its friends organize this walk to mark the International Ataxia Awareness Day. Other walks will also be held in British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Ontario and Quebec.
BE PART OF THE MOVEMENT! Participate to the walk, collect funds for medical research, tell the world that ataxia exists.
Once again this year, the traditional Walk to overcome family ataxias will take place at the same time as the Ataxia Challenge Cyclosportive. These two events, called Ataxia Challenge, will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the Parc des Ateliers in Chambly (1840, Avenue Bourgogne) from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm.
You will be able to encourage the numerous cyclists from their first departure at 8:30 AM from the gathering place at Parc des Ateliers.
The 2017 Walk will be held on Parks Canada grounds, a beautiful location where we will have a breathtaking view of the Richelieu River, the Chambly Basin and its majestic Fort. Check out our itinerary here!
The objective of this day is to collect as much money as possible so that the research on family ataxias advances… But it is also a great opportunity to “chat” and share our stories.
Let’s sensitize together the population to these so-called rare or orphan diseases.
A snack, a lunch and a drink will be offered during the day. In addition, a bar and refreshments service will be at your disposal.
Games and various animations will still be there.
Register now, alone or in a team!
